The government is a major customer for the construction industry. Government departments must think about the whole lifecycle of new buildings. This reduces costs as well as impacts on the environment.

The government, and other large organisations, use Life Cycle Costing (also called Whole Life Costing). This makes sure it gets best value from the buildings that it commissions.
