Buildings in your community

Take a tour of your community:

  • Look for buildings in different stages of their life.
  • Take photos of them, and make notes on what you see.
  • Use your ideas to list the different stages in a building’s life.
  • You won’t have seen the very first and very last stages. What do you think these are?

Some buildings have a longer lifecycle than others.
How might this depend on:

  • how a building is used or looked after?
  • how it was made?
  • its original purpose?
